SEASIDE, Calif. – Pitcher Norman Hebert members of the 2009 Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team is continuing his career in professional baseball.

Hebert is splitting his time on the mound and managing the Erbach Grasshoppers of the German Professional League.
An 8 Year ABD Academy Player and A four-year letter winner at CSUMB, Hebert has many roles with his current team. On top of being the manager for a top level team and one of their starting pitchers, Hebert is also the head of the baseball organization.
“I am the head coach of all four teams that our organization represents,” Hebert said. “I make all the calls on rosters, line-ups, and practices. There are a few others who help coach other teams when I am at a game with my main men’s team but they all answer to me. Our organization has many board members that consists of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, etc whom I answer to. We have regular board meetings that I attend, where they address things they want to see out of me and as well as other things. It is pretty similar to any sports organization in that I have complete control.”
Hebert states that his duties are similar as they were in Monterey, such as running youth camps and clinics. His organization has alliances with local youth hostels and primary schools to teach baseball to local youth. On top of his managerial and pitching duties, Hebert gets extra pay to demonstrate and teach these clinics because some of the young athletes have never seen or heard of baseball.
